What kopula is
kopula lets the organiser of an event, and the people they invite to scan, collect the LinkedIn profile links of attendees who show their LinkedIn QR code. Everyone with the event's list link can then see who was there and connect with them on LinkedIn.
kopula is not a place to keep data. Each list is deleted on its deletion date, at most 30 days after the event was created, and cannot be recovered after that.
kopula is currently free of charge.
Who may use kopula
You may use kopula if you are at least 18 years old and use it in line with these terms and the law that applies to you.
If you organise an event on behalf of a company or another organisation, you confirm that you may act for it, and these terms also bind that organisation.
If you organise an event
As organiser, you:
- run a kopula list only at an event you organise or host, and only for the people present;
- tell attendees that a list is being kept, for example on a sign or at the start of the event, and let anyone decline to be scanned;
- share the list link, and its PIN, only with the people at the event and the people you invite to scan;
- remove a person from the list when they ask you to, without delay;
- do not export, copy or use the list for marketing, recruitment, sales prospecting, profiling or any purpose other than letting the people at the event connect;
- are responsible for the people you invite to scan, and remove a scanner who misuses kopula.
If you scan for an event
As a scanner, you:
- scan only people who choose to show you their LinkedIn QR code, after you have shown them the notice on your screen;
- scan only at the event you were invited to;
- do not scan a code you took from a screen, photo or document without its owner's consent;
- follow the organiser's instructions and these terms.
Your name, and your LinkedIn link if you add it, is shown to the people you scan and on the list.
If you are on a list
You decide whether to be scanned. The name and tagline you add must be your own and must not mislead. You can edit or remove your entry at any time with your personal link; removal is immediate and permanent.
Use the list only to connect with the people you met at the event.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- add a person to a list without their consent, or pretend to be someone else;
- collect, scrape or download lists, by hand or by automated means, or combine them with other data;
- send spam or unsolicited messages to people you found through kopula;
- enter unlawful, offensive or misleading content, or sensitive personal data, in a name, tagline or event name;
- try to guess links or PINs, get around a limit, or access a list you were not given;
- transmit malware, or overload or disrupt kopula;
- use kopula in breach of the law or of anyone's rights.
kwantor may remove content, revoke links or scanners, delete an event, or block access, without prior notice, if it reasonably believes these terms are broken.
kopula and LinkedIn
kopula is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a trademark of LinkedIn Corporation; kopula uses the name only to describe what it works with.
kopula reads only the profile link in a LinkedIn QR code. It does not connect to LinkedIn. Connecting with someone happens on LinkedIn, under LinkedIn's User Agreement, which you remain bound by.
Links, sign-in and your account
kopula works with links: a list link, a scanner invite link and your personal link. Anyone who has a link can use it, so keep yours to yourself. An organiser can replace a list or invite link that was shared too widely.
You sign in with a link sent to your email address. You are responsible for access to that mailbox and the devices you use. Tell us at once if you think someone else used your account. kwantor is not liable for loss caused by a link or account you did not keep secure.
Your data
How kopula handles personal data is set out in the privacy statement. You keep the rights to what you enter. You give kwantor a limited licence to store and show it only to provide kopula, until it is deleted.
Availability
kwantor tries to keep kopula available but does not guarantee it will work without interruption or errors, for example during an event. kwantor may change, suspend or stop kopula, or any part of it, at any time. If kopula stops, existing lists are deleted as described in the privacy statement.
Intellectual property
kopula, its software, texts, design and logos belong to kwantor or its licensors. You get a limited, non-transferable, revocable right to use kopula for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify or distribute it without kwantor's written consent. If you send feedback or suggestions, kwantor may use them freely, without obligation or payment.
Ending your use
You can stop using kopula at any time, remove your entries and ask for your account to be deleted. kwantor may end or suspend your access at once, without prior notice or liability, if you break these terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
kopula is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. kwantor does not warrant that a scan succeeds, that a profile link is correct, or that the people on a list are who they say they are.
Limitation of liability
kwantor and its partners, agents, suppliers and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use kopula. kwantor is not liable for what other users do with a list, or for anything that happens on LinkedIn.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or deliberate recklessness.
Indemnification
You indemnify and hold harmless kwantor, its affiliates, partners, employees, agents and suppliers against claims, liabilities, damages, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of kopula, including a list you ran or scans you made in breach of these terms.
Force majeure
kwantor is not liable for delays, disruptions or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as natural events, government action, pandemics, war, terrorism, internet outages or the failure of third-party services.
Changes to these terms
kwantor may change these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. Substantial changes are announced at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using kopula after that date, you accept the new terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes are first addressed through good-faith negotiation. If that does not resolve them within 30 days, the competent Dutch courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you use kopula as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may also bring a dispute before the courts there.
General
These terms and the privacy statement are the entire agreement between you and kwantor about kopula. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
